I’m a long-haul trucker, so I travel extensively around the US. Alas that also means little time to dive, and the nature of trucking means every scheduled time off is +/- a couple days. Setting a schedule is like nailing Jell-O to a tree.

I learned to dive in 1990 around the Channel Islands in California, got my AOW there in 1995, and have dove that area pretty extensively. I stayed dry for over a decade, with driving consuming about 99% of my life, and have recently decided to get back in the water. Looking forward to diving some of the more interesting and unusual spots in the country. The company for which I drive is based in Dallas and I also frequent Destin/Fort Walton Beach FL, so diving quasi-regularly around there is quite feasible. My usual route is between DFW, SW Kansas, around NYC, and back down to Dallas; however, we do cover all 48.

If you have any recommendations for 18 wheeler accessible dive spots, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I keep my gear on the truck with me and, load permitting, will happily park my truck pretty much anywhere it’ll fit and go jump in the water.
