Hi Greg, I started diving in 1968 and BCD’s hadn’t even been thought about then. Equipment was pretty rudimentary, we even used converted Oxygen bottles out of redundant RAF bombers!!
Buoyancy was with weights on belts only.
Today’s modern divers have it a lot easier and a lot SAFER thank goodness.
I’m off next to the Portuguese island of Madeira which is in the Atlantic off the coast of West Africa.
Amazing wildlife and a glorious island to dive and stay.

Kindest regards

Kenneth

Hi Greg,

Haven’t been on for a long time. A couple days ago I noticed in the photo section, a pair of Cousteau divers facing each other. I wrote a comment about them not wearing a BCD and not having split fins............amazing that photo cannot be found, I guess it just disappeared?....Huuuuummmmmmm

Regards, Terry

Hi Greg, I’m planning a road trip through Texas. Are there any good springs or lakes to dive. My route is from Florida, stopping in San Saba, TX on my way to California. So, I will probably stop in east Texas, which where I would be looking for diving or things to do.
Viron - 1/31/2016 9:21 PM
One of my first stops on my up coming road trip will be either St Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, Fl or Ft Pickens in Pensacola, Fl. The tides look like the will be timed well for shore diving in the second half of March. Is there anyone in those areas interested in diving those spots and times?
Greg - 2/02/2016 11:39 AM
Along that route...I would suggest Blue Lagoon (divebuddy.com/divesite/1200/blue-lagoon-huntsville-tx/) and Stillhouse Hollow (divebuddy.com/divesite/1937/stillhouse-hollow-belton-tx/). Have fun!

Greg, thanks for booth the suggestions. Both are not that far off my route so they are both doable.

Whats the weather like at Lake Travis this time of the year?
Greg - 10/21/2015 8:01 AM
You can expect most of Lake Travis to be in the mid 70’s right now. Here is the link to Windy Point Park, the most popular Lake Travis dive site: divebuddy.com/divesite/1216/windy-point-park-austin-tx/

Is it common to have a medical release form filled out by Doctor for taking Peak Performance test ?
Greg - 10/08/2015 7:11 AM
Sure, just depends on your medical history and current condition. Any "Yes" answers to the medical form require a release from a doctor before scuba diving.
