Superstitious Divers???

I recently watched an episode of "After The Catch" in reguards to the discovery channel show "Deadliest Catch", and one of the topics discussed was superstitions and the crabber, they do seem to be a superstitious lot. It got me to wondering about divers, are divers superstitious? Like will you not dive unless you have your lucky shorts, or gloves, booties, etc... Or perhaps you must have the grandslam breakfast at Denny’s before a dive for good luck? anything of the sort from anybody? I’m really curious and interested in hearing about anyones superstitions they may have, should prove interesting I would think.

I’ve seen boat captains forbid banannas on there boats. The captain would actually toss a banana on the doc, just before heading out. To keep anything from monkeying with the boat and equipment.

I don’t have any superstitions, but I do like to wear my old mask and fins even though they look horrible. And I would never swim under a ladder or through the path of a black catfish :)

Bananas... happen this last weekend. We brought them on the boat and the captain said something about them. As a matter of fact, he passed them out and made us eat them. Once we did eat them we started spearing fish! Prior to that lots of sharks and NO good fish!
