I had on a 7mm 2pc suit with similar water temp. It was comfortable in the water but freezing on land. I’m going to start working on my specialty certs so I can get my rescue diver certification by next summer. I want to be MD certified by 16’.

Got my AOW cert this weekend at Dutch Springs thanks to Jim from Ocean Spirit Aquatics in West Depford NJ. It was my first dive in cold, non-tropical water. COLD!!! Still a great time though.

Headed up to Dutch Springs for one last dive weekend this season, it’s going to be a cold one.

Anybody going to Dutch Springs next weekend?

I’m looking at a new pair of fins. Does anybody have any thoughts on Atomic Aquatics Bladefins?

Anybody doing the AOW certification at Dutch Springs in late Sep or early Oct?
sophiesheu - 8/12/2014 6:05 PM
Actually, I am thinking about doing my AOW. But probably shooting at Bainbridge Quarry. Interested? My time is flexible. So late Sep or early Oct work for me. Let me know.
LB1335 - 8/12/2014 7:03 PM
Where is Bainbridge Quarry located? I’ve never heard of it
sophiesheu - 8/13/2014 5:27 AM
Bainbridge Scuba Center, River Road, Bainbridge, PA
sophiesheu - 8/13/2014 5:32 AM
Many dive centers around my area (Baltimore) offer AOW at either Bainbridge or Dutch Springs because the quarry is deep enough for deep water dive.

Oh, ok...let me research it and I’ll get back to you.

sophiesheu, did you ever get your AOW certification? I did mine this weekend at Dutch Springs. It was freezing cold.
sophiesheu - 11/17/2014 12:38 AM
I haven’t done my AOW. However, I did a cold water dive at Chesapeake Bay on early November. I had a 6mm long john inside and a 6mm jacket outside and I was pretty toasty. Can’t even feel the cold water in my core areas. Btw, the water was like 52 degrees.
