I finally made it to the "cruisin and over 40" category. With over 500 logged dives, I certified in 2001. Rescue, nitrox certified. Previously proficient, I took time out of diving to care for family, and I am taking time to get wet again, and have been upgrading my gear. I am a casual diver, much more interested in easy diving and finding interesting sea life and growth than in depth or challenge. I will happily snorkel in shallow water, but enjoy the company of older divers, and enjoy a good boat dive (and a healthy meal following). I like a buddy who has well established good habits! They can keep peripheral vision and alertness on their buddy, knows where they are, does not drink the night before or right after diving, and has the patience to wait until all the dives are done to find a good brew. Their equipment must have been professionally serviced this year, and they should care about their physical fitness (reasonable weight, and regular exercise, please). Trust me, I don’t care if your gear matches or not, just that it is in good shape. I am an accountant by profession, so December, March, and the first part of April I am unavailable. If it is not in those months, feel free to send me a note.

I’m looking for a buddy and suitable inexpensive site to check out a new mask and weight check, Saturday Oct. 18?

I wanted to pass along some feedback to the web master, moderator. I’m using an Apple iPad mini, with Google Chrome as my browser. When I upload photo(s) from my photo album, they upload upside down to your site. Your site does not appear to have a method to rotate the photo. I’ve also set a photo as a default, and I will get a message to refresh my browser (Google Chrome does this automatically), however, even a log-out and log-in does not show the photo uploaded? Thank you.

Thanks for the message. I can’t do much about the upside down photos...depending on how you hold the iPad when you take the picture, that will determine the direction of the photo. The pictures are uploaded and everyone will see a new profile photo you post...your browser is just keeping a hold of the cache, which is only reset in some browsers by completely deleting your browser cache.
