I am new to the scuba world and the friends I have who are already certified are moving. This means I won’t have any dive buddies in my area. During the process of my open water certification I have learned I LOVE scuba diving. I do not want my certification to go unused and therefore hope to plan some dives from time to time as money and time allow. But as we all know you don’t dive without a buddy. So I really hope to find a dive buddy. Oh and to add some information I did my certification in Djibouti Africa, so I am skeptical about the dive sites in Ky, as far as how they will compare.

Hello Denise and James,

We were going to head to Natural Springs this past Saturday but the weather was looking kinda iffy. I think we might try heading up there again next weekend, and also looking to head over to Pennyroyal near the end of July in Hopkinsville if you might be interested? I’ve got a block of rooms reserved right now to try to get some group rates and just gauging interest.

Happy 4th!

I need some partners too! though I’m a little north. I did my certification at Natural Springs, The instructor relocated to FL. I don’t have much experience, would like to take the advanced open water course, haven’t ’picked’ the dive shop. I would like to add you both to my buddies list is you don’t mind!

Hello, James,

I sent an earlier email but DiveBuddy seemed to act up on me and I don’t know if it reached you.

Anyway, hello, my name is John Hoh and I’m a diver/instructor from just north of you, in the Florence area. I’m not sure how much of a drive it is for you or what you were looking for, and I unfortunately don’t know the dive community and destinations in Lexington very well, but we typically dive most weekends in the summer as the water warms.

If we do a day trip, it’s usually Falling Rock near Louisville or Natural Springs, New Paris, OH. We’ll meet up early morning and dive the morning/early afternoon then call it a day. Otherwise, I put together and run several weekend trips over the dive season. Right now it’s looking like we’ll head to Loch Low Minn, Pennyroyal, and Mermet springs this season, as well as possibly an advanced wreck dive up near Chicago. We’re also in the early stages of planning a weeklong trip to St. Thomas or St. Croix next year where we’ll rent a large house for everyone. We also try to put together dinners or card games as a social gathering throughout the year as well just to divers to get to know one another.

Again, welcome to a great sport with a large extended family. If you ever want to get together and go diving, or want more information, please feel free to let me know. I try to keep my website updated, and I send out most of my updates via facebook and email distribution list to tell everyone where we’re going and make the arrangements.

Have a great day.
