When you go to the DOCTOR, do you mention you are a DIVER?

(Besides bragging about it)(lol) do you mention you are a DIVER (or DIVE) when you go to the doctors?

I always tell them, in case it has any relevancy to why I am in there, or if it might has caused it, OR if (God forbid) they tell me to AVOID diving!

Whenever I visit a doctor (for any reason) or a dentist as well, I always let them know that I am a diver. In fact, I try to find doctors and dentists who are at least divers themselves.

If your doctor or dentist does not understand a little about hyperbaric physiology, they may either miss something significant in diagnosis or might not treat a dive related condition appropriately.

If your physician is not a diving doctor, then you can refer them to contact one of the major Scuba Certification Agencies for information, or better yet, refer them to contact DAN at Duke University for assistance.

I let doc/dentist know what I am doing - better to be safe than sorry - and better if they have an clue as to what they are dealing with...

Not every time I go, but yes...my Dr. knows I am a diver. I lucked out since my Dr. dives as well :)
