My name is Ron. I have been a member of DiveBuddy.com for a while. I suppose that I should tell you a little about myself. You should know that I love diving and I love the oceans. I am certified through several agencies and in a number of specialties.

I support and promote sustainable use and responsible stewardship of the oceans and their resources. I also support research that will lead us to this end.

I really can’t tell you how many dives I actually have because I don’t really keep track of them the way I should.

I have earned an A.S. degree in Diving Business and Technology and an A.S. in Environmental Science. I am working toward my B.S. in Oceanography.

If I’m not working or taking classes at the local college, then I can usually be found doing something out of doors or in the water.

I am single.

I have two adult children (sons). I am very proud of both of them. And two grandson (Zack & Aiden) who I love very much.

I am a former US Navy Chief Petty Officer (CPO)

I like to run, swim and practice Kendo for exercise.

I also enjoy camping, hiking, boating, going to the beach, etc...

I don’t smoke. I do enjoy a little beer or wine occasionaly.

I don’t do drugs of any kind & I don’t hang around people who do drugs...

I value the "Finer Things" in life; like Love, Honesty, Hope, Trust, Faith, Having Fun, Family, Friendships, Affection, Simplicity, the satisfaction that comes from knowing I have done my best... I love to explore. I love a good adventure.

I am a man of Faith and I attend church services regularly, although I fear that I shall never be accused of being a saint.

I am not a wealthy man by any standard. I’m just a simple, hard working guy who is trying to survive and live the life that’s given to me; and maybe help a few folks along the way.

I enjoy a wide variety of foods but I will eat Mexican or Asian foods any time. I particularly like sushi.

A sad loss.  This reminds us that although SCUBA diving has become a "relatively" safe sport.  There are still very real and serious risks involved...:

Thank you for the artical link chief. One cannot be reminded too often that we are trained for a reason. Things can still go wrong and that puts our training to the test we hope we never fail.

I dove Tavernier twice and it was so awesome! I can’t live in the Keys, nothing to do, but Miami? For sure!
