Originally certified in June of 96, I was away from diving for quite a while. Had taken several refresher courses with the ultimate plan to get back into diving, but ran into the issue of having a hard time finding dive buddies. Most of my diving "career" has been in semi-confined water in the aquarium at Epcot in Disney World. If you get the chance to dive there, I highly recommend it. Plenty of sea life to see there.

I recently went through and got training with a dry suit and have my own set up minus tanks. I’ve also taken the SSI Nitrox class and would love to do some Nitrox dives with someone who is more experienced than I am so I can learn more than what the book just teaches and learn from their experience.

Even though I’ve added dry suit and nitrox training to my list, I still consider myself a novice diver in that I don’t have a lot of hours under water logged. I’ll admit, it’s been a while since I’ve actually had to prepare a dive plan myself. The open water dives I have done were with a dive tour and the plan was pretty standard and already set up with the tour operator’s experience of the locale. I did take the time to figure out RNT and such for my own curiosity and satisfaction, but I didn’t get to figure out what kind of bottom time we wanted and make the plan for when to surface. Hopefully I can find some dive buddies so I can gain more experience.

Hit me up sometime. I’m always up for making new friends even if we don’t end up becoming dive buddies.
