I’m headed down to Grand Cayman the week of May 22nd and wanted to see if anyone from the dive community may be in that area? I plan on doing several days of boat dives but would like to find some folks to buddy up with for some shore diving.

If you’re going to be diving down in the Caymans that week and would like to hit some shore dives, let me know.

Jamie,

I am heading down 6/14 -6/22 let me know how your trip goes. Where to find buddies on the island. I have read theat Eden Rock Dive Centre and Abanks Dive Centre have good shore diving and are popular, may be a good place to meet buddies.

Hi Nick.

I hit Eden Rock and Cracked Conch [ at ] Turtle Reef as far as shore dives and did all the others as boat dives.

Eden Rock was nice but each time I went down to the shop, no one was diving and no one was (dive master) available to go. I would have had to schedule for the next day or wait and see if anyone is going out (off season a little slower). Just a few steps up the road (still Eden Rock dive site), there was another little dive shop/snorkel rental and I went out with a dive master there.

Cracked Conch [ at ] Turtle Reef was just amazing and I ended up meeting some great new dive buddies there. It seems to have more folks diving throughout the day if you are looking for someone to buddy up with. And if you need to wait a few, there is a great little bar there (food before, rum later...).

All my boat dives were with Red Sail and I had great time. The staff and crew there were all great guys/gals and ran a great operation.

Hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did. Let me know how it goes.
Jamie
