Any divers out there looking to upgrade for 2010 season? I’m in search of a first dive computer - needs to handle cold water and both air/nitrox. Would prefer quick disconnect, but also looking for moderate price. Compass would be nice, too.

thanks! Dan

Not sure if it’s going to be easy to find an "entry level" computer that meets all your specs...but I dive with the Aeris Atmos AI with compass and quick disconnect. Have been for the last 4 years. No problems at all. I used it at least 100 times per year and I only have to replace the battery once per year. It takes a beating and still looks and works great.

I’m sure you can get it from your local dive shop...OR you can also check it out here, then enter AERAAICCQ in the search box to go directly to it.

I use the sherwood wisdom 2 and love it. They just came out with a newer model. I am not sure what your price range is but definately add this one to your search. I hope you find what you are looking for.

What is a ’moderate price’ to you considering quick disconnect and built in compass?

I have an oceanic pro plus 2 - not a quick disconnect though - which is very easy to ready and simple to use. Air/nitrox - software to download is very simple too.

Price $250.00

I use the same computer as Greg, Aeris AI. Easy to set up, easy to use, and has a fairly liberal algorithum. I’ve been using it for three years and it hasn’t let me down.
