Unfortunately, the Ocean has been a dumping ground for many things for many decades. It’s really amazing how much can be absorbed by our oceans!
When the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill happened in the Gulf of Mexico, one thing we learned here in the Florida Keys was that this spill is just one of many many over the decades! And the worst ones are in the Pacific &Indian Oceans...because China and other countries don’t even have the protections in place that we do here. Crazy.
Hard to imagine that the fallout from just the japan accident will kill the Pacific...we may kill it eventually from the accumulated accidents over the years...but not just that one I imagine.
