What to Believe? Is the Pacific ocean going to die?

It’s not a topic many people want to talk about. I am referring to the effect of the continuing nuclear contamination of the Pacific by the leaking power plant in Japan. I suppose you can believe what you want but I feel that we are being deceived. There are plenty of conspiracy theorists and nut jobs out there that have this on their RADAR. Where is the truth in the midst of all of the rhetoric and lies?

I feel that we have been lied to for a very long time. That nuclear plant has been leaking high level contamination for years. Is it going directly into the Pacific? Of course it is. I suggest that we would be well served to pay attention to what is being done, if anything, about this radioactive disaster. The potential death of the entire Pacific ocean ecosystem is a very real problem.

You have probably heard that dilution will take care of the problem. What you may not realize is that the particulates from this release do not dilute. They remain a highly radioactive particle for a very long time. They will eventually settle to the bottom of whatever contains them and remain a hazard. Will it be hazardous to enter the water some day? What about that?

What do you think?

It looks the frozen ground wall method should help stop some of the contamination. The section on the ocean side has been on since Feb of last year. Haven’t heard it being a huge success.

I can’t remember where I read/heard it but the frozen wall method of containment is not working. If the contamination continues unabated them no one is talking about it. I find it disturbing that there is such a hush placed on this profound (potential?) ecological disaster. In this case no news is not good news.

I hope to hell that I’m wrong but I have a very bad feeling about this whole mess.

Unfortunately, the Ocean has been a dumping ground for many things for many decades. It’s really amazing how much can be absorbed by our oceans!

When the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill happened in the Gulf of Mexico, one thing we learned here in the Florida Keys was that this spill is just one of many many over the decades! And the worst ones are in the Pacific &Indian Oceans...because China and other countries don’t even have the protections in place that we do here. Crazy.

Hard to imagine that the fallout from just the japan accident will kill the Pacific...we may kill it eventually from the accumulated accidents over the years...but not just that one I imagine.

I agree...too much over the years for just that one event to "kill" the Ocean.

The entire center of the planet is a radioactive molten metal core. That’s why we still have life, and Mars doesn’t. I’m not worried.

Plastic pollution and entanglements in the Oceans are a huge problem. We need to concentrate on that. Not global warming, or whatever narrative is cool now.
