Devil’s Den Springs (Devils Den) - Williston FL

Loading...
Devils Den is a great cavern dive near central Florida. Be careful on the steps as you descend into the mouth of Devils Den. And watch your head as you go under the rocks. You’ll see some large catfish that are apparently trapped in the cavern (or maybe they know a secret way out). While underwater, spend time looking up at the light coming through the cavern and into the water. Bring a couple lights, it’s not really a cave...but there are some spots that get dark since it can become pretty enclosed. If you don’t like tight spaces, try to avoid going through some of the small openings. I never had to take off my gear to push through, but I didn’t have to wiggle my way through some spots.

Don’t go beyond the bars or signs underwater, they’re there for a reason. Checkout the neat bones and other stuff lying on the floor in some spots...this place really does seem pre-historic.

There are training platforms to use and a pool on site as well. The cabins on site are also very nice and cozy (with kitchens and bathrooms).

While there’s not a great deal to see at Devil’s Den, it’s a beautiful location and a good place to hone your skills.

I did not get to do any of the swim-throughs while I was there. I was on a schedule and couldn’t stick around for the second dive of the day with the group I was diving with. However, that will be on my short list if I make it back to Devil’s Den.

Dove this place on a vacation to Florida in December 2016. Great place, very cool going down into the spring. Only got one dive in but will be back next time I’m in the area.

Great place to visit. Many updates to the topside site without a rate hike at the moment.

We went back here on 10 June 2016. The trailer that was used for registration is gone and they have built a nice permanent fixture with plenty of room for divers and a nice rental area. It’s to the left of the bathrooms as you walk towards the Spring. There is also a full porch around 2 sides of it. Quite a few updates to the area, but no hike in price as of now. Lots of snorkelers that day, but they are in & out pretty quick. Great place to knock the rust off.

Had a lot of fun when I went here in October of 2009. The scene around the cavern entrance is pretty amazing and surreal. The visibility of this dive is pretty good. The water is cool and clear.

This was my very first real dive site! I was told that the viz was poor that day but still over 50’. The wood ladder to get down was a bit different. I saw lots of fish. I would love to go back! Nice people and fun dive. Water temp was 68 bring a good wetsuit.

This was my first dive as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will at some time go back.
