New diver (certified winter 2015) but grew up around water and extremely comfortable on or below the surface. I should have my SSI master following the next dive day. Former lifeguard. My first dive post cert. was at night, and I got to respond to a real out of air emergency on that same dive.

Certs (SSI): AOW, Nitrox, Deep, Wreck, Night/Low-vis, Mine(qualified only, did not pay), ReactRite, Rescue
Certs (PADI): Ice Diver

I’m not interested in tech diving at this point. I dive wet, but my core stays warm for hours (plural) even at 32F.

I own a full set of rec. gear plus a dive kayak, but I have no regular dive buddies. Help! Looking for any safe buddy local, and could also use an intermediate+ buddy for a Blackbeards triip.

Ladies, none of you in your 30s seem to be listing scuba diving on the online dating sites/apps. Just saying....

Hi Rick and welcome to the forum. I have a buddy in Charlotte that drives down to Kazoo every Wednesday evening to dive with Sub Aquatic Sports And Service. I’m trying to schedule a day trip to Higgins lake. It will probably be during the week to help with boater load. I’ll keep you in the loop if you like.

I work M-F pretty much every week, so will need to pass on that Higgins trip. I’m actually going to be up there for two weekends in August, though. I might be able to make a more local trip may work on some Wednesday evenings, depending on timing. Happen to know what time those Wednesday dives start?
