I have been looking at getting into an underwater video system. As you all know they are a little pricey. Ikelite and JVC have come out with a package system with the JVC Picsio video camera. The price is right for me, ($760.00 for the deluxe package). I was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with this system. The Ikelite web site has a sample video that is supposed to have been filmed with the system that seems to be really nice however I notice in the video that the people using the system are using a much larger lens than what comes with the system. Ikelite offers a wide angle lens for the system, sold seperately for an additional $265.00. If anyone out there has used this system let me know, or if you have any suggestions in the $1000.00 to $1200.00 price range or lower I would like to know.

they are worth it if you get the set up separately, get the housing from ikelight for 250.00 with the filters, then up grade to your own system from there.. NEVER PAY RETAIL ! SEA MY POST ON THIS FORUM !!

Hey Mike, I can only speak from my own experience. I’m really happy with mine and the video quality. I have a Sea & Sea DX1200HD. It will shoot HD video pretty darn well, plus a 10mp camera. I take 60% pics & 40% video, so I run a strobe for the pics and a separate dive light for video up close. The camera & housing combo I think goes for $700. If you shoot video you could probably skip the strobe and just get a really good movie light. I just saw this morning at my local dive shop one on sale with a brand new camera and slightly used housing for only $450. The Nocturnal movie light would be perfect match for approx $400. I’m friends with the owner Hal at Hollywoodivers (323)969-9800 or website Just tell him you are a friend of Rich Forster. Here’s a video I shot:
