So, I am about to go diving on Saturday here in North Carolina, off the coast of Wilmington. I am anxious. Viz is only supposed to be between 15-30 feet. Worried about sharks. Just a whole lot of newness and I am just spoiled by always diving in Florida.

Which dive shop will you be going out with? Olympus is good and they are pretty squared away. Don’t worry about the sharks and viz...the hardest part about diving NC is getting back on the boat. The main thing is to have a good buddy, discuss your dive prior to hitting the water and don`t dive beyond your ability. Other than that, have a great trip and post a report when you get back.

Don`t worry. Worry leads to "panic" . If you are not accustom to diving in these conditions` then perhaps you should try a few practice "low-viz" dives first. This can be done in a quarry or lake. Most quarries have similar vis conditions. The other thing you might run in to is the current, depending upon where you dive. Don`t worry about the sharks. And remember to relax. If conditions are worse than you are prepared to deal with then don`t be afraid to abort the dive. Most people who run into problems usually do so by diving beyond their training and abilities. So, go out there, have fun, relax and have a SAFE dive. Seawolf sends
