My name is Terry and I live on my 46 foot Trimaran "MANTA" in the Sea of Cortez. I am an independent Dive Guide for the Sea of Cortez, and also the Revillagigedo Islands, Just South of Cabo San Lucas 220 miles, San Benedicto Island, Socorro Island, Roca Partida, and Clarion Islands. I have been diving these area´s for 29 years....you might say I know them all pretty well by now.

Can anyone tell me how to upload photos on this site? Can´t seem to find the upload button. I have one photo of me and my Giant Manta friend on here but cannot figure out how to get it to show anywhere.....daaaaaa. Also as far as my address, it is a mail forwarding service, I live on my boat Manta in Puerto Escondido just South of the town of Loreto in lower Baja Mexico. As far as dives...I average about 600 dives a year, sometimes more in the Summer......even below 200 feet it is still about 82 degrees.

Hey Dive bud’s....thought I would put this out. If your thinking about investing money in a DPV don’t think "Hollis" I bought a Hollis H-160 from them through Dolphin dive center in Sacramento. Used it probably less than 30 times to the tune of $4,000 dollars less than 3 years ago. Now I find the charger is dead, so I called Dolphin dive center only to find Hollis does not stock anymore parts for the H-160....great !

Anyone know where I can get a charger for this scooter before the battery goes dead(batt cost $1,300 approx). I sure hope I don’t have to make a hat rack out of this scooter ! The batteries need to be charged to approx. 33 volts....thanks for any help on this !

Curious...I wonder just who started the idea of divers not wearing their knife and not wearing gloves on charter dive boats...what is the mind set behind that. I myself think it is stupid, because many times over the years, I have needed my knife (I carry two, one at chest level and the other on the inside of my leg) to cut fishing lines off of several Giant Manta’s, Turtles, and even a couple of large Groupers. I just saw footage of a whale shark with a huge bundle of fishing line trailing behind it, and it was also cutting deep into the shark. Luckily the diver that spotted the Whale shark did have a knife and was able to cut the shark free, which is a personal warm fuzzy. I think we all, as divers would feel pretty bad if we saw this, and because of not having a knife, were unable to free a creature caught like this. Also gloves are the best thing to fend yourself off of things like fire coral and other unpleasant things when a surge pushes you into something...nice to have a gloved hand to push off !

Not sure this is the right place for this to be brought up, but just felt the need, been diving ALL my life except the first 12 years.................
P.S. It there a correct place to put something like this out...curious ?

The photo I mentioned of two divers facing each other were Cousteau divers....NO BCDS and NO Split fins, great to see that I am not alone !

I have a question for any of the older divers...........I am looking for info on the rescue pak that used to be popular in the early 60´s. It was about the size of a pack of cigs. You squeeze it and out pops a pair of water wings in clear plastic. Anyone with ANY info it would sure be appreciated...........contact me at mantateam@gmail.com
