Guess I should be a little more specific, the Labor Day trip will be to St. Thomas Virgin Island.
captcurt - 6/22/2016 7:05 PM
Hello Fellow Divers! I am needing some input, information, and/or recommendations. Planning on a Labor Day Weekend trip from Sept 2-5 or 6. Needing to know what places that are good to stay. Went through several travel agencies and some say that they can get an all inclusive (which is what I am looking for) while others say they cant get those. What I have so far is: Sugar Bay Resort; Bolongo Resort; and Frenchmans Marriott Resort. Also, what personal gear should I take with me? Any and all thoughts and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

You should post this question in our Forum.

Depending on where you are located, Cozumel can be very economical. I go there twice a year on the average.
Jaydiver - 6/28/2016 11:27 PM
Contact me if you want more information. Actually our dive group in Victoria, Texas has a trip planned 3-10 September to Cozumel. My email is jaywalthall0822@att.net.

Planning on a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands next May. Any one have ideas on where to stay and what to do...other than diving. Got to keep the little lady interested and myself during those dry times.
Gregihpil - 8/20/2013 6:08 PM
As for dive shops. Blue Island divers ,when I was there a few yrs ago is great. If Tony is still there as boat Capt.Hes a great guy.Curious to hear if they still have a sign I had made for Him.The usual shops along the main drag and some Historical sites are on the Island..Have fun.

Airline

"Model R-260-X-L by The Air Line is a high quality hookah dive system
enabling divers to dive without scuba tanks as deep as 85 feet,
depending on the number of divers on the system. Powered by a commercial
grade Honda engine that drives a continuous-duty Thomas Industries
compressor, the R-260-X-L delivers 12.5 cubic feet of air per minute,
and runs for three hours on just two and a half quarts of gas. The
R-260-X-L comes as a complete two-diver system, but it can support up to
four divers with optional “Add Diver” packages, while taking up
substantially less space than the necessary scuba gear for a comparable
amount of diving. Bottom line: The R-260-X-L allows multiple divers to
do lots of diving while eliminating the hassles of wearing, filling, and
transporting bulky scuba tanks."

Now my concerns are: with the engine exhaust in close to the compressor, what kind of scrubber does it have? Also, 3 hours at depth, what kind of decon will a diver need? Looks interesting but.......

Just wanted to say that I have been on this website for over six years. I have made lots of buddies and have actually dove with some of them. But it is always wonderful to reflect back and see just how closely our dive community is. Everyone on here is always nice and cordial and I am so happy to be adding you all to be my DiveBuddy. This is what makes this site so extremely great everyone watching out and guiding others to wonder sites and insights. Lets keep up the good work. :))

Just read about two divers loosing their lives while diving at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in Carmel CA. No information at the moment available other than one male and one female. Both pronounced at a local hospital. Let’s keep our fallen brethren in our thoughts and prayers. Let’s don’t take anything for granted and be safe while diving.
Greg - 2/23/2013 6:19 PM
Please start a forum topic about this when you know more.
iluvscuba - 2/25/2013 1:11 PM
I read about tht on the internet also. Thats so sad that got left behind. How could someone do that. I dont think id ever go with a large group like that. prayers.
MexicoAmy - 2/26/2013 11:01 AM
They were not left behind...they were diving on their own at a Park that allows tgis by just showing you are certified...they used all their own gear and the gear was found to not be faulty by investigators...read more here...
captcurt - 2/26/2013 7:37 PM
Yes I have tried to find out even more information to include looking through DAN and even trying to contact the fire service in the local area there. Havent found anything new yet.
captcurt - 2/18/2013 8:20 AM
Ok guys heres the latest on the Texas Coastal Beaches, Galveston is closed due to a bacterial infestation in the water. Corpus Christi to South Padre Island is closed due to invasion of Portuguese Man of Wars. Hope I didnt crash anyone’s plans.
Eve - 2/18/2013 8:31 AM
wow, good thing it is not in the height of spring break. Sorry to hear this.
captcurt - 2/18/2013 8:43 AM
LOL tell me about it. If I recall it right Galveston also has a bad issue with seaweed washing up around spring break and during the summer.
badintexas - 2/18/2013 10:05 AM
We didn’t have beach plans for Spring Break but still, that’s crazy to think about! Thanks for the heads up!
captcurt - 2/18/2013 10:14 AM

captcurt - 2/16/2013 12:37 PM
Hey guys,
Planning on my family getaway this June. Looking at Pensecola area. Any suggestions?
SCUBAFOX - 2/16/2013 2:59 PM
I grew up there. What are you looking to do besides dive. There is the Naval aviation mueseum which is great and there are plenty of great restraunts on and off the beach. I would suggest McGuires Irish Pub its just good food and a good time. there are also plenty of nice hotels to stay at and plenty of nice rental properties on the beach. if you need to know more I can do my best to help you. Have a good day.... Eric Fox
SCUBAFOX - 2/16/2013 3:07 PM
Also I still have family there and freinds so I have to contact my sister but she can tell me the name of good rental propertie companies there. You just let me know you could also contact MBT divers and they could suggest some great dive sites. Pensacola is a fun place so like I said let me know and I will help out as much as I Can....Eric Fox
shellmoundal - 2/18/2013 4:51 AM
