My wife and I just came back from Utilla (Hondorus - One of the Bay Islands). It was the most fantastc time. If anyone is intrested; we stayed at the Mango Inn. The service was great but it was a little bit of a walk to the Utilla Dive Shop but was well worth it. Utilla Dive was great . The crew went above and beyond. Chico, Lukas, and Anthony (the boat Captain) were great. Out of 6 days of diving we saw whalesharks on 3days. They even took us out 2 days extra in the afternoon to look for whalesharks. I will defintly return there, and stay at the Mango Inn and dive with Utilla Dive. Downfalls of the Island include nothing to do on the Island except for diving. There is a tax to get on the Island, not much about $1.50 each but an additional $34.00 each (cash only accepted) to get off of the island. Price at the Mango inn was very reasonable with a dive package included. About $699 each for an economy room which included two meals a day (breakfast and dinner) and six days of two tank dives and a night dive. So all in all we dove 13 dives plus the crew took us out an additional two days in the afternoon to look for more whale sharks. (At no charge - but we did tip very well at the end). Sandiver

I stayed at Utila Lodge, nice but I would like to try Mango Inn the next time and glad to hear you liked it.

We had whalesharks everyday and once swam with a pod of bottlenose. The reef seems to be missing the edible size fish but other than that in good condition.

Other than walking there isn’t a lot to do on Utila during the suface intervals, at night some would gather at the end of Utila Lodges dock to watch the eaglerays feed under the lights but that’s about it!
