has anyone been scalopin in thte hernando fl gulf. i have been out about 3x since opening day they are hard to find .not like the last 2 years, tried both shallow and the 10-15 foot.you have to really look hard,to find them.

we were out at bayport about a month ago just snorkeling to see if there were going to be any.


The ones we saw were hard to see they had like a clover looking green stuff growing ontop of the shells.


We were always partial to finding them in the Chiefland area.

The overall scallop condition is kind of grim this year. Here is a link to show the studies done on a 600 square mile area for a few places in Florida:
