I went to a wedding there in 1999. I made the van driver stop at the big food market in Cabo on the road there. BOY! Am I glad I did! The "resort" consists on many 2-3 couple cabanas. MOst have kitchens and a fridge.
The restaurant at the "resort" is only open at odd hours, and if you miss it, you miss it.
I never dove there, as I wasn’t certified back then, but I didn’t see anyone diving the whole time I was there!
I did make it out for some deep sea fishing, but after 20 minutes, the seas were way too rough.
DO BRING A FLASHLIGHT TO WALK AROUND ON THE GROUNDS AS THERE IS NO LIGHTING AT ALL OUTSIDE.
If you don’t mind being away, and I mean: AWAY from it all, you will be fine, but it is VERY MINIMAL. If you don’t bring your own group, it could be very quiet there!

I’ve been to cabo & La Paz & I like Manzanillo better , great diversity, lots of fish & more varieties of puffers in one location than I have seen anywhere else, dove with a turtle on new years day & a beach dive to a wreck & found a seahorse on new years eve, water now should be apx 70 deg.
the airport code is ZLO here’s a web site about the area & there are links for diving www.gomanzanillo.com

Pulmo is absolutely awesome. Since its designation as a National Park more than one decade ago no fishing is allowed there, and the recovery of the reef fauna is just incredible. The quantity and size of reef predators there resemble what the Sea of Cortez could have been before people arrived. The local dive shops provide fairly good service and the cabañas are just perfect to relax after a whole diving day. Finally, Pulmo may be the one and only place in the Sea of Cortez where you can dive and picture the mostly dissapeared Gulf Grouper -an endemic, gorgeous giant- schooling around the only coral reef in northwestern Mexico. No party around, so take your own beer & music. Enjoy!
