Recommednations for diving Florida Oct. 4-6

My boyfriend and I are driving to Florida on Oct. 3-7 to go diving. (We live in Charleston, SC.) We originally wanted to dive Venice but can’t seem to find any charters that are free. I’m in the process of researching other possible sites we could do.

We’re not into lakes, springs or caves. He likes to find fossils and I like reefs and wrecks. A combination of these would be ideal. Perhaps Jupiter? Maybe Pompano Beach or Ft. Lauderdale or Vero Beach.

Suggestion would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Joy

I like Panama City myself. Nice getaway town, and diving will still be great. The "Oriskany" is just about an hour from there as well.

It’s going to be pretty tough finding a free charter anywhere. Venice does have Florida West Scuba School that does 2-tank trips for about $65.00, though

You doubt I’ll find any free charter? LOL Me either... Your response cracked me up.

If you read my intial post in context I’m saying free as in having open seats on their boat. Or in other words, they are totally booked... :-)

Jupiter Dive Center is one the best places, in my opinion, on the east coast of Florida. I dive almost exclusively with them. Here is there website: http://www.jupiterdivecenter.com/

We constantly see a lot of Goliath Groupers, turtles, sharks, beautiful tropical fish, and have outstanding viz.

I’ll be diving with them on the 4th and 5th in the morning. Say "hi" when you see me. Also, let me know what you’re real name is (you can PM me) and I’ll make sure we’re on the same boat, as they have 2 boats that go out each day.

If you get down to Boynton Beach, I have used Underwater Explorers. Kevin is a good guy and comes well recommended.

We ended up diving in Jupiter, Fl through Jupiter Dive Center. We did drift dives and had an amazing time. We even got to dive with jupitermaid. :-)
