I’d like to know if anyone here has dove in Canada’s Hudson Bay. I’m interested in the logistics involved and any info regarding best time of year, dive sites ect.

Thanks,

Brian

At that latitude it’s only going to be ice free a few weeks so timing will be everything. When I was stationed in Labrador the Canadians resupplied the villages by ship during that window so finding out when they sail may help however there are roads up there so maybe not.

Are you flying or driving? If you are doing more than a few dives you’ll probably need to bring your own compressor.

Looking forward to some interesting dive reports :)

Just looking to dive it. I had read an old article on diving with the belugas. That would be a cool dive.

No actual plans set yet, looking into what it would take at this point.

Thanks for the tips...

Looks like this is where you could drive to, get a room and rent a fishing boat. I wouldn’t recommend camping in polar bear country! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chisasibi,_Quebec

I did some looking and during the time of the expedition, the bears aren’t too close. Still, I would prefer to not be camping just in case!
