Diving Miami Lakes

I’ve been dreaming about freshwater! All my dives, all i have ever done, is about salt and ocean and spearfishing. Now i was wondering whats beneath the surface of a lake?
Yes, everybody says; an alligator!

Well i did it on a solo trip, location disclosed! Why? Because i found some interesting things but alligators!
That includes new Ray Ban sunglasses.

Looks like i am the only one diving there. But here is the story.

Parking is very easy, infect you can drive up to the edge of the lake! I don’t know if it is private property or not haven’t had any problems yet. Well, on my first dive :)
Anywho i put my gear together really quick because i didn’t wanted to be stopped by anything.
As soon i had my gear on, i was in the water. It goes about 15 feet wide in and then drops to a whopping 20 feet and a about 45 degree downward. I had no lights and for a solo dive in waters i don’t know i only went 30 feet deep. After 30 feet the temperature drops, the water turns murky and lights are needed!
I believe its just the thermocline if i go next time i’ll breach it and see whats after that!
I need a buddy for that too. Its pretty freaky down there! 8 feet vis and darkness at bright daylight makes it interesting, besides i found a walmart canopy. You know the $99 folding ones 10’x10’.
First i was wondering what it was!
The lake is believed to be about 70-80 feet deep, i can’t find the name for the Lake!
Next Time i will make a video and i will post it!

So....? Anybody sick of top notch vis and and salt in their mouth?
Besides you will see some big ass peacock fish and bass!
Again i did not see any alligators besides this lake is not connected to the everglades and since alligators are cold blooded, they probably won’t be in colder waters!

I dove a tiny section and found shovels, canopy and glasses! I only went for 20 minutes check out dive now i need a buddy!

I didn’t even know there was a Miami Lakes lake. I always just thought it was one of the burbs. Sign me up. I’ll go sometimes.
