to start of how much money do you want to spend , 500.00 - 4500.00 US dollars, what type of diveing open water, wreck,cave diving ? answer a few of those question and you can narrow it down.

No firm idea yet.... i guess between 500 and 1000. It will be for diving the great lake wrecks mostley. Again I am new to it... not surewitch direction to go... Any help would be great

you can pick up a used mako for a $1000 on ebay or any technical web site , someone is always selling one to upgrade, mako are rated to 180 feet or so, 60+or- burn time, not to heavy, easy to maintain, and parts are everywhere, if you want to get into wreck or cave it will start you down the road, not to hard to tote on a boat if need be. you could go cheaperand smaller but i don`t think you be happy later on. We rent these and I see many where I work. The Sea Doos are ok for the price however I believe that the better one for the money is the Apollo. As previously indicated there are indeed others and in many different price ranges. Match up your dive expectations with what is available and I am sure you can find one that fits your diving needs. That said the Apollo is hard to beat. Hope this helps.

Before I purchased my scooter I had to evaluate where I was going to be diving in the next couple years. I want to get into the caves, but most of my diving is off shore wreck diving. I didn`t want to compromise so I picked up a scooter that I would be able to switch out tubes--the short boddy for wrecks and a longer one for caves. If you get a scooter first determine what it will be used for and where you want to be diving in the next couple years. Also, do you wnat to travel with it? Mine is heavy and not too airline friendly. If you decide on a quality scooter that can grow withy you you`ll be looking at spending around $3500.

It turns about 1150RPM and is an original Tekna motor so you move well at that speed and get great burn time (1hr plus depending on pitch/etc).
