No offense to Dive Magazine (which I do read), but the greatest place for shipwrecks is the Great Lakes. There are over 6000 wrecks that line the bottom of these 5 great bodies of water. You can find many that lie within the 130ft recreational limit and many more that go beyond into the technical diving realm. No where can you find wrecks that are over 200 years old in almost pristine condition. Here is a basic list of some of the wrecks that can be on your dive list:

Please put the word out...while "blue water" diving is nice (and warmer), we need to promote our Great Lakes and the dive sites that are within our own boarders. The history of these wrecks stretches far beyond most of the known wrecks in the worlds oceans.
