The water is just fine on the east coast of Florida and the keys are fantastic with the best water of the year. Hurricanes cleared up a lot of algae and the cooler water of this time of year takes care of the rest. The cooler water of the winter months makes for the best water of the year if you don’t mind temps of 80. It doesn’t take long for the sand to settle. The only issue in the central or lower keys is fewer rooms but if you plan ahead you will have no problem. If you want to dive the gulf dive anywhere north of where the Caloosahatchee dumps in the gulf. It’s just fine in the Tampa area to the pan handle.
