I did ONE shore dive on Gran Turk, from the Bohio Dive Resort. We had to wade out to the reef, which was about a quarter mile off shore. The water was between knee to waist deep most of the way, so it was a LONG wade out & back in! Once was enough, we just did boat dives after that!
