I have kept all my scuba gear in non-climate controlled garages for the past 6 years and haven’t had any problems (so far). That might be because of the humidity in Texas...maybe it keeps the rubber and plastics moist enough to not crack. Also, just take care of any mice problems and hang stuff up on racks, don’t just lay gear on the floor. If scuba gear starts coming with a "keep refrigerated" label, I need a bigger house :)
