Make sure the tanks have some pressure. Clean the gear then place it in sealed containers and store in as stable environment as possible where it won’t see huge temp changes and won’t be exposed to sunlight or ozone.

Sealed containers? I hang my BC (partially inflated) and wetsuits, once cleaned and dried in a spare bedroom closet and the boots, gloves etc on a shelf in the closet, closet door slightly opened. House is temp controlled and this still allows the gear to breathe without putting folds and creases in the neoprene. If any moisture, even from the humidity in the air when you seal the bag I would be concerned with mold, mildew over time. Also any neoprene in packed bag would compress and loose its effectiveness. Pressure in tanks yes, but 50-100psi, only need enough to be more than 1atm, wouldn’t be a bad idea to have VIP to be sure valve and tank is pristine before storage. My opinion which is an entitlement which is not funded by anyone but me. Study hard and get back to paridise!

Keep it in an air conditioned closet and it will be fine. Don’t store it in the garage or attic.

Thanks for the advice everybody. I’ve been keeping everything in one of my spare closets. I think I’ve read too many horror stories of tanks exploding and gear getting moldy but it sounds like I’m being paranoid.

Your talking long term storage of several years so I would place stuff in sealed containers with Silica Gel Packs to take care of any moisture that wasn’t removed or gets in. The reason for sealed is to ward off rodents and insects that are more then willing to make good use of your gears high tech materials. Sealed containers means any type of container that can be sealed, bags included.;) All the other suggestions are viable and is pretty much what I do but my gear isn’t sitting still for several years without being disturbed. As long as you can be sure rodents or insects aren’t a problem then it should be fine. As for the wetsuit and BC use a heavy duty hanger that has a large radius over the top where the gear makes contact to make sure creases don’t develop. You may be able to stuff padding over the top to prevent creases.

Do what Agojo said above. Stored my equipment for over 10 years that way. Worked out great.
