 We morn the loss of a fellow diver (right)

Mahmoud Sherazi (Mike) (right)(53) Gateau Quebec Canada passed away last night while on a dive vacation in Egypt. Mike was a true diver he was an instructor and mentor to many. He was also one of my best friends. He loved and appreciated the underwater world immensely and his love was infectious.
Mike will be missed by many.

Mike dove with a group that pushed the limits, he had a new re breather, I don’t know the details but it was dive related, 100m dive.

Wow, I am so sorry. The picture above says it all. You were good friends, and now MS (Mike,) is gone. At times like this, memory become blurred in the sorrow of the tragedy. I understand it is difficult. Yet, Greg is so very honest when he asks "please share, so we can learn." Ditto from me, please share.

Re breathers are being considered as the new and upcoming standard diving equipment. So, any news on what gear Mike was wearing, at what time did the re breather fail, or was he not set-up for the mixed gas properly (starting at the surface;) these are important clues. Wow ... I am so sorry.

Hello:

Mike passed away in Dehab Egypt and I do not have a lot of the details. What I do know is he was an extremely knowledgeable, safe diver, my wife, son and myself all took courses from him. He pushed the limits, but knew "his" limits. Sorry I couldn’t help more.

Plmr747 > thanks for trying. I’ve picked up a book, "FATAL DEPTHS" to learn about divers attempting the Andrea Dora off the Atlantic Ocean, East Coast (somewhere north of Long Island New York.) And, this book has chunks of interesting stories. FYI.

And again, my deep condolences to all. I have lost a buddy diver, too. Although not a close friend of mine, I was interested to learn from the tragedy. It is difficult since emotions cross paths with sadness.
