Dive the Coast

Dive the Coast will take place in June 2013 and will be the
largest mass dive in history. It involves organizing thousands of scuba
divers to travel the coast of California underwater, raising money for
conservation organizations along the way.

DTC did their first test dive in October to see how
far we could get on a single tank of air. We called the dive after
encountering a mass of jellies, but we were averaging about 2 mph!

We’re planning more test dives the third Saturday of every month
starting with Jan. 21, and all are welcome. We’re going off the Silver
Prince in Monterey, so to reserve a spot, call (831) 204-0539.

These test dives will lead up to the big Dive the Bay event June 8-10. Divers from around the state, including a large
contingent from LA and San Diego, will be coming up to help us cover the
entire Monterey Bay. Our supporters include California Diver magazine,
Oceanic, Aquarium of the Bay, O’Neill, and, of course, Silver Prince.

This sounds really fun. Make sure to add the main date, in June 2013 when this event will take place, to the DiveBuddy Calendar. I will do my part to help promote it.

That sounds like fun but I live in Florida. Would you mind sharing your plan? I’d love to try organizing an event like that in my corner of the ocean.
