[Choose #2] No desire to be a DM or Instructor. I have hundreds of dives with DM’s and instructors. I have acually helped some of them out.Dosent mean I am better or visa vesa

[Choose #4] Had a great instructor! I guess if you look at it in terms of a "club" then it’s not so cool. I happen to think an Instructors only site is a good idea. It gives instructors a place to discuss/ask questions among their peers.

[Choose #2] I dive often with all 3 of my instructors and have had no problems at all.

[Choose #2] My instructor is great (2) thumbs up

[Choose #2] I had a great instructor and dove with some awesome ones. I cant speak for them, but i gathered they were about sharing knowledge and experience versus keeping things to themselves. Cant wait to dive with them again!

[Choose #1] only dive with people I like. If I don’t like you as instructor...sure wouldn’t dive with you.

[Choose #1] I have experienced some fantastic instructors, they take the time to teach, afterwards they are always willing to dive as fellow divers. Then there are the rest... arrogant stiffs who believe that since they are instructors they are beter than anyone

[Choose #3] A good instructor is like a good coach.... They know when to keep their mouth shut and when you might need advice. Thankfully you cant hear under water and he understood the universal your number one signal.

[Choose #3] Ego closed my dive shop- not sure why his pro ranks info is top secret

[Choose #2] Sometimes I dive with pros and sometimes I pay instructors to teach me. I enjoy both but if I’m not paying I don’t expect free lessons just a good divebuddy. It could be that your ego is the one getting in the way.

[Choose #2] From the tone of your post I’d assume your had bad experiences. Maybe it’s you or your choice of instructors.

[Choose #2] Just like any other relationship between 2 people it depends on the 2 individuals.

[Choose #2] As an instrutor I must "take the lead" with my students to ensure their safety and provide a good learning environment, BUT... I dive with people of all levels of skill and I see it as an opportunity to learn something new from them.

[Choose #2] The more divided the forum gets the less one reads any of it. That’s why I don’t go to scubaboard anymore!
