Saturday’s Shore Dive Location:
Lauderdale by the Sea, Fl.
Date:
07/18/09
Show Time:
9:30 a.m. at Force E on E. Atlantic Blvd
http://www.force-e.com/index.shtml

Gear needed for shore diving:
Dive Flag
Reel or spool with 30 feet of line.
Underwater light for looking in cracks and crevices.
Basic scuba gear and you are ready to go.

Things you should know about shore diving:
Know your limits.
Plan your dive and dive your plan.

We will meet at Force E on E. Atlantic Blvd at 9:30 a.m., if you need fills or any gear to rent please show up early and they will take care of you. Then we will discuss our dive plan, buddy up, and head off to our shore dive location. Remember to bring quarters or jump in the car with another diver lol. You will gear up at your car so you can lock your car. It is best to only bring what you plan on diving with and leave all extras at home. Then you will need to be physically able to walk in full gear across the beach to the entry point. Most shore diving in S.E. Florida has a swim past the end of the piers if not further. So once we enter the water we will take a moment and collect our group before we swim out. On the swim out you can snorkel or kick back on your BCD and chat with your new dive buddies. We will take it nice and slow out to our dive site. When we arrive at our dive site we will take a moment to make sure everyone is ready then we will dive. As most divers have different air consumption rates when it is time for you or your buddy to end the dive you will let someone else in the group know you are going in and you will surface with your buddy and take a nice slow swim back to the entry point. It is very important that you do not get in your car and leave without letting the group know. Once the entire group is accounted for we can all clean up and possibly go “Do lunch” for those interested.

Hope to see you there!
