Hi. May someone tell me when is the best time to dive Belize? How about hurricane season? When it´s safe enough to schedule a trip?

Hurricane season is also the hottest time of the year but the prices may be lower.

I go to the Carribbean in winter and spring to escape the cold here but I don’t want to bake either. Last March I was in Belize and dive sites were limited to the lee side of the islands because we had 40kts of wind most of the week. I hope you are looking at the islands of Belize because Belize City is a slum.

i went in June of 08’ to the island. Amberg.. something Caye. We were there for the first hurricane of the year. only 74mph winds so not too bad. First 3 days not good. I did 3 dives. There was a constant breeze so wasn’t that hot. Are you staying in Belize or one of the islands/ It was only $60us for a 2 tank dive. I had a blast going through swim threws and short caves. If only the pictures would’ve come out.
happy diving.

Hi, I went in April of ’08 and got 18 dives in. I stayed in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. It was beautiful. The water was calm, always a little breeze, but perfect diving weather. I went out to the Blue Hole/Lighthouse Reef twice and had really nice weather. There is a lot more to see out at the Lighthouse Reef vs San Pedro, but it was still amazing close to San Pedro. There is nothing better than suiting up, taking a 3-5 minute boat ride, diving, getting back on the boat and doing your surface interval back at your hotel room, so you can eat, use the bathrooms, etc before your next dive. I am planning on going back this up coming April. I stayed at the Sunbreeze hotel right next to Aqua Dives. Very happy with companies. Just keep the air conditioning on like they tell you to. If you dont (like I did), you will find new friends will inhabit your room (a wonderful 1:00am wake up to a tarantula, the size of a softball, in the bathroom!). Great diving, great sea life/fish/dolphins/turtles/sharks, and decent coral.

Best of Luck and stop at Ramon’s for a Belkin or a Lighthouse and some chips and salsa!

Thanks for your advice. So I guess I should better wait until September or October... Is that correct?
