Get some good pre-fall Malibu diving in while you can! Malibu is a great area to dive when the conditions are right, and it looks like it’s getting a break this week.

This spot hides right behind some houses on PCH just north of Big Rock Rd, with a staircase between two houses leading down to the beach. Access is tough as the 5-spot parking lot has some "No Parking Tow Away" signs that the residences have posted, so parking at the lot is at your own risk. The safest bet is to park across the street on PCH and cross the street when there’s a lull in traffic.

Because of the tough access and often ish conditions when surf is high, the reefs are teeming with life, and there is some decent game to be had as well!

Expect low tide and about 1-2ft surf max, with a shallow rocky entry and a relatively small kick out to the kelp forest from shore, where the reefs lay in about 15-35 feet of water.
