Sunfish Pond is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located in Hardwick, NJ. The maximum depth is 51-60ft/16-18m. The average visibility is 5-10ft/2-3m.

This site deffinetly rates a 5 Sherpa award

I’ve hiked up to this lake probably a hundred times over the years, not once did I ever think Sunfish Pond was deep enough to dive or this 8 mile hike would be more fun carrying my dive gear! A few times it was with dive buddies to see the fall colors or the waterfalls and none ever said, "hey next time lets bring the tanks" either! LA/Ray

Sunfish Pond is a 44-acre glacial lake surrounded by a 258-acre hardwood forest located on the Kittatinny Ridge within Worthington State Forest, adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Warren County, New Jersey.

Very difficult terrain - climbing up the Appalachian Trail with scuba gear. There are two places to park - one allows an easier slope but requires a longer hike. The second hike is shorter but steeper terrain. We chose the shorter route. Needed to stop several times to take a break with the gear - take your time.

The water is very cold and the bottom that I saw was rocky with many trees down and branches that could cause an entanglement hazard. Be careful if you dive this lake.
