Can I park at City Park during the week? The walk back from Rio Vista seems doable in gear, think Ill try this one soon.

If you mean Rio Vista Park you can. You can’t park on the university lot during the week without the proper sticker.

I would like to ask if anyone can suggest where to enter and exit for a dive on the San Marcos River? My dive buddy and I are planning on leaving one vehicle at the exit to drive back. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks. Greg

You can enter at Sewell Park (parking on weekends only) and exit at Rio Vista Park. From underwater you know you’re near the exit when you see the supports for the railroad bridge.

Great vis. I saw 100s of fish, acres of marine plants, and a few large turtles. I stuffed a large mesh bag completely full of trash during the dive. I won the prize for picking up the most trash. This is my favorite Texas dive.

Water in the 70s year round makes a great place for an inland winter dive.

Dive #2(drifting a mile down the river):

Dove the San Marcos river under the Interstate Bridge. No longer accessible but you can do shore entries elsewhere in San Marcos. Pretty constant temperature year round since it is spring fed.
