I went scuba diving here on 5/21/2022. Average viz: 5-10ft/2-3m. Water temp: 71-75°F/22-24°C.
Visited this site during a vacation trip through Texas with the Family. Fun site with lots to see and an awesome staff. Not a very deep dive but they have lots of stuff to venture through. Bottom is pretty silty so if you cant regulate your buoyancy you will muck up the water pretty easily. Love how they assign you a dock, and the one we had let you walk right into the water. Temp was great and the water level was higher due to current rain showers.

A great little spot in Athens to spend the day. Nice shade all around with clean facilities. Not very deep and gets warm in the summer. Have never seen a fish in this lake. Kinda strange.

Dove here 9/30/17. Vis was 10’ at best. The free map they give out is all wrong because they change out items and the lift bag classes also lift and move things around. Water temp was great at 82° and supposedly the vis was way better earlier in the week before it rained. But this is definitely a great way to practice navigation skills. Arrived at 9:30 and had the park to ourselves, very nice. Going back I’m 2-3 weeks to try it again.

I went scuba diving here on 7/22/2017. Average viz: 5-10ft/2-3m. Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C.
Did all of the sunken things and navigated perfectly without looking.
Then when I got out, found a nearby geocache.

Viz was poor which we were told at the office. Due to all the rain the past week. Temp: surface 83, 20 feet 78. Viz was 5 at best. We did have the place to ourselves for the most part, only saw 2 other divers the whole time.

It was fun diving the wrecks, but visibility was only about 10’. It was better the next morning when no one else was diving, maybe 15. Camping there was fun too, and the staff is super nice and helpful. Going there this next weekend for Halloween treasure hunt and night diving.
