I dunno why they say that about the lobsters going deep. Maybe they are. I was just puttering around in the shallows and came across a big 6lb. monster, and spent a couple minutes fighting him out. Right after I caught that lobster, a lot of fish had been congregating around me, but the weirdest one was something I hadn`t seen before but looked prehistoric. Malaga Cove

I met up with Anne/HowlingHooves to lay down a late-season lobster assault down at Malaga Cove. I`ve only caught a few bugs this year, and the last one I caught was the biggie on the same dive when that ratfish stung my hand. Anyways, we went to Malaga around 7pm and got in the water. The waves and surf wasn`t bad at all, but the visibility was still pretty reduced. I think it was maybe 5 feet or so? It was still a pretty cool dive. Malaga in March seems to contain every adult horn shark in SoCa...

Went out for some lobster hunting with Andrew. I wasn`t sure how conditions would be, so we went near the large rocks, where Andrew pointed out that visibility was usually best. He was right! It was a really nice dive and the viz was better than I expected. we crawled around, looking for bugs. I didn`t see many but I did get some scallops and shot a large kelp bass that attempted to eat one of my scallops.
