I just got back from a week long trip to Belize. I had been before and done a liveaboard. This time we did a land based trip and stayed at the Inn at Robert`s Grove. Placencia is at the southern end of the country - we took an hour long puddle jumper out of Belize City to get there. We were there for prime whale shark season and they did not disappoint. We swam with as many as 3 whale sharks at a time. The staff at Robert`s Grove were wonderful; the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Other amenities included unlimited use of hobie cats, wind surfers and kayaks, 3 nice pools and hot tub on every roof. THey also had a nice spa services that I took advantage of onmy non-diving day. Saturday night`s BBQ included a pig roast, crab claws and steak, live music and dancing. We had a blast and I`d go back anytime.
