Manta Lodge and Stradbroke Island Scuba Centre is a full service 5 star PADI dive centre, running daily diving and snorkelling trips to some of the best underwater playgrounds South East Queensland has to offer. Located right on the beach at the beautiful Point Lookout, we cater for all levels of Diving experience, from absolute beginner, right through to the highly experienced and adventurous divers. We run double dive trips in our 2 custom built semi-rigid NAIAD inflatable dive boats, to the offshore reefs located just off the northern tip of Stradbroke Island. Our launching point is from the beaches across the northern tip of the island (either Home or Flinders Beaches), and all of our varied and amazing dive sites are within a quick 10-15 minute boat ride from the beach. Our on-site facilities include beachfront accommodation for up to 64 people in a combination of prviate double and twin rooms, as well as clean, comfortable and secure dorm share rooms. We also have a concrete gear-up and wash down area, outdoor heated showers, lockable cages for dive gear and valuables, free tea & coffee in the kitchen area, toilets, outdoor BBQ and dining area, drying area with clothesline and free parking. Our highly qualified, experienced and professional staff are here to assist you from start to finish, making sure that you experience both in and out of the water is highly enjoyable. A bus pick and drop off from Brisbane city to our front door is provided on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays- cheaper and much more convenient than the public transportation system. This mini bus (11 persons excluding the driver also provides guest transfers around the island (to Point Lookout Headland, shops, Dunwich, ferries etc). Our main attractions however are the marine animals that all of our guests come to witness. In summer we are blessed to have superior access to Manta Bommie (rated in Australia’s top 10 dive sites) where we see Manta Rays and Leopard Sharks in abundance in their natural environments. In winter time we are fortunate to see highly endangered Grey Nurse Sharks at the protected Flat Rock, and humpback whales on their migratory route from Antarctica to the southern Great Barrier Reef. We also have many other locals all year round such as turtles, bull and eagle rays, wobbegong, bamboo, guitar and white-tip shark, eels, octopus, nudibranchs, pelagics plus thousands of tropical and sub-tropical fish varieties.
