Hi Divers!

Great to join the dive community here on DiveBuddy.com! I am married to fellow diver and photographer Robert Frerck (Odysseyphoto.com). We have two girls, Maya (7) and Chloe (5). Both are beginner snorkelers and avid sea
turtle watchers and shark conservation advocates! Our favorite family vacation is Akumal, Mexico where
the turtles come right up to the Sea Kayaks, and the Centro Ecologico Akumal (Marine Center) and Akumal Dive Shop are right next door.

I started diving when I was 16 and have been exploring the world underwater ever since. I’ve worked in a wonderful variety of dive-related jobs from a dive shop in Toronto, Canada (can you say ICE DIVING?) to a marine non-profit (Reef Environmental Education Foundation) to a U.S. federal government job at NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuaries program. I was fortunate to work for one of the Caribbean’s longest established dive resorts, Sunset House in Grand Cayman, and the world’s largest live-aboard company, Aggressor Fleet.

For ten years, I produced the Dive Travel Conference (hosted by DEMA) and have conducted way too many dive travel seminars in conjunction with DEMA, PATA, ASTA, The Travel Institute, several dive magazines, and at regional dive shows in the US, Canada and Asia. My company, Dive Travel Business is taking all the dive travel learning material and going online in 2012 to help dive travel pros expand their businesses from the comfort of their computers.

In the meantime, as the Publisher of Dive Travel Business News for the past four+ years, I’m always looking for dive and travel-related news. Please feel free to contact me if you or your company has some interesting dive travel news to get out to the world!

Safe & Happy Diving!

Welcome aboard! I have to agree with you that Akumal is a hidden gem. Great beach, wonderful turtle population and excellent fish tacos but dont tell everyone!!! Then they will all want to go.
