Please consider posting any reef life photos to iNaturalist.org , a citizen science website meant to help people learn about the biodiversity of the planet. You post your photo with the location and date/time and you can add an identification if you know what you saw. For example, if you know you saw a Moray eel, you can add that identification. If you saw an eel but don’t know what kind, you can add the ID "Eels." The community then checks your work and/or helps you identify what you found. All of the photos are put into a database which is easy to search through so that you can see what you might find when you explore a new place. Check out the link above to see a project I created that is a collection of the fish, corals, and other reef life of South Florida and the Florida Keys.
