I went scuba diving here on 10/8/2021. Average viz: 51-60ft/16-18m. Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C.
Chartered with Discovery Diving, Beaufort, NC. We had much better conditions than the first time we dove the Indra. Visibility was 50-75’ with only minimal surge or current. Some parts of the ship had collapsed since the other time we dove it 5 years ago so it was like a completely different wreck. There was a wide and abundant assortment of sea life including barracuda, amberjack, spadefish, sea cucumbers, starfish, and huge balls of baitfish. Some people reported seeing flounder and even a bull shark but we missed those. Very enjoyable dive. The crew also ran a line from the ship to a nearby barge that we went to on the 2nd dive.

3rd and 4th dives on the Indra this month after a 5 year gap. She has been ripped apart by recent hurricanes. Better to be diving than not but 5-10’ viz, rough seas, and a battered wreck made for an unimpressive day.

I went scuba diving here on 10/6/2017. Average viz: Under 5ft/2m. Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C.
Very low visibility with a side to side surge and slight current from bow of the wreck to the stern. Lots of sea life. Water temps around 80 degrees. Interesting wreck, hope to do it again sometime and hope for better vis.

Yeah, just my luck. Seems like every time I take Terri on an ocean dive, the viz is terrible. One of these days...

Dove the Indra sunday 11/6/16 and what a difference after the hurricane...

the Bow and stern are the only things intact, the sides have collapsed, the starboard hull side had fallen over the steel sailboat that was lying against it.

TOTALLY different wreck, very cool now... I was "over" the indra as i dive it so much but now i an interested as it is a totally different wreck now..

Vis was an awesome 40’ for there.

Swam inside the wreck for an hour. Great dive. Need to be careful. Cables and beams hanging down. Some spaces are tight.

One of the best wrecks I have dove on. Lots to see on the wreck as well as an abundance of sea life. Very little current.

July 17th 2015 Really cool wreck with lots of places to penetrate the wreck. Really enjoyed this one but the vis was still not great after the storms on Tues and Wed.

I have MANY dives here. It has really taken a beating through the last few hurricanes.
Vis ranges from 50’ to 5’
nice because it is close enough to take our boat
