It was taken at Devil’s Den near Bradenton FL in February 2009. Water temperature was 72 degrees, just slightly cooler than the air temperature.

I plan on taking a weekend dive/camping trip to Vortex Springs, FL in late April 2009 and may be lucky enough to get away for a weekend dive trip to Ginnie Springs in January or February. The nice thing about diving the springs is the absolute clarity of the water. If the trips come off as planned; I’ll take some photos and post them.

If you are interested in diving cooler waters, the western basin of Lake Erie has several shallow wrecks. The summer water temperature is 70 to 75, perfect for a 3 or 5 mil wetsuit. The visibility varies with the location and local weather.

no, you can get back up real quick just close the pit cock and barrel up your air. they are for any type of diving. we dove them in the ballard canal. but i do agree very scary, it sounds like your in a submarine around 5000ft below every noise is just a wierd creeking sound. but very few people have the nerve to dive them now days.

some people do, i will say it takes much more skill to dive that than anything else in the world.
