Anybody been here yet? I know it hasn’t been in the water long, so I don’t know if there is anything to look at yet. Sounds like my kind of shallow shore dive :) Here’s a link to the brochure, since the webpage isn’t optimum.

That’s actually a completely different site that no longer exists because they fixed the fishing pier and you aren’t allowed to dive around fishing piers. They made the reefs partially to ameliorate the aforementioned situation.

Went this morning about 0800. Virtually no surf, water temp 81 (perfect for a skin), slight current E-W, vis when not in the algae bloom was 20’, in the bloom maybe 5-10’ varying. Some growth on the platters. Lots of different fish schools continuously swimming around. One nice size trigger fish, one ray, small flounder, sand shark and variety of small to medium fish on the platters. Max depth 17’ ON THE BOTTOM! MUCH BETTER than the Pensacola reef (also many more platters and easier to get to the entry point along with showers & restrooms when finished. Would not be fun getting in and out if much surf.

From the closet middle platter to the pole nearest the boardwalk it is 340 degrees. Do the math for going out.

Sounds nice, maybe I’ll check it out soon. Thanks for the report :) Can we get this site added to SCUBA Earth and the fishing pier removed (since it is now a fishing pier again and diving is prohibited)?

Yesterday I added your remarks to the fishing pier site so they know it’s closed.

I started the Navarre Marine Sanctuary dive site, please fill in the blanks

There are 2 spots on the sound side, each marked by 4 signs keeping boats out of the "marine park" area, which consists of 4 concrete structures. Not much to see. I did find a large Crown Conch there. Not deep- 10-15 so.
