DAN trip insurance?

Does anyone have experience with DAN trip insurance?
I have heard horror stories of people trying to collect on policies from other vendors.
As a member I received a quote for $266 against a $4000 trip, which seems to be pretty reasonable for the coverage offered.
Thanks,
John

The trip insurance offered by Continental (Trip Assure?) isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on, oh wait, you need to print it yourself! They wouldn’t pay for flight change charges forced on us by the airline due to flight cancelations or stolen cash or the police report.

I also found out most won’t pay for the travel agent running off with your money, a dive shop in Pa. did that to me.

We have always purchased our trip insurance through DAN. We had to take advantage of it once when we got stuck in Cozumel during Hurricane Wilma. They paid everything they said they would. I have no complaints at all.

I took a 3 month, $13K trip to Hawaii, Fiji and Australia. Spent $900 on trip insurance through DAN. Broke my ankle in Melbourne on a land-trip no less (stupid, freakin’ koala bears), and they paid for all my medical in Australia, my trip home, my missed hotels and dives for the remainder of the trip, and all my medical expenses back in the US. Worth every penny! Don’t leave home with out it.
