It would be fun to watch some diving on TV. But not really into the whole competition thing. That’s not why I go diving. More into beautiful places & cool things to photograph. And don’t really think you need to be a tuff guy to NOT wear a wetsuit in 80 degree water. People do that every day.

If you missed the first one, you missed nothing but intros for the participants and a couple ads for camera housings and a resort. I am hoping that it is not going to be drawn out as the first was. Reserving more opinions for after seeing a couple episodes.

Adding to knightddiver’s comments. I was highly disappointed with the first episode. I hope they get to the actual competition on the next one. Even other "competition reality" shows like Golf Channel’s "Big Break" series have some sort of show related exercise in the Introduction Episode. This was nothing but meeting the contestants and a very little bit of information about the competition itself.
On a bright note, the actual name of the show now shows up in the Program Guides for Versus now, so you can program your DVR to record the series by name.
Here’s hoping for a much better Episode 2.

I just heard about "Into the Drink".. My local, used to be, ABC affiliate is supposed to carry the broadcast, but they aren’t listing it for the next week. However, you can catch episodes of it on the web at www.intothedrink.tv

I do have Versus and cannot find Ultimate Diver Challange.
Into the Drink is on at 9:30 AM Saturdays on HD Net, then repeated at Noon. There are only sporatic repeats now, they are gearing up for the new season (2). Tons of bad reviews got the original host, Aaron Fauls, launched. If they do not change the show significantly you will be very disappointed. Seems the "Drink" they focused on was alcohol, bars, distilleries, and if we were very lucky we got 5 to 10 minutes underwater. If ever there was a show needing a DVR this was it. Got my fingers crossed.

hmmm so I se tthe DVR to record rhe series and now there are no upcoming episodes. Canceled that quick? I mean there are much worse shows on that channel so is it just not coming up in the guide or is it gone?

Well This morning my DVR recorded the show, I watched it already, I guess the guide was not updated to show that it was on until last night.
My impressions so far are that it will not be the show that changes scuba diving forever but more the show that might encourage more people to try scuba.
The challenges are really fun to watch and make me want to go to the next one with my buddy and compete, so I guess I will be watching for the whole thing. I do have to say I wish the commercials, especially the learn to dive ones were a little shorter but hey you need to get money from somewhere.

If you’re a Fan of the UDC check out this dive shop. ? The owner s is a great girl and placed 3rd in the scuba challenge of 2009. The top female and this year she was a great safety diver for the show. She is looking to get fans of the dive shops Facebook page so take a minute and check it out. She need 500 fans to move on to something more and has now 440. Good luck my scuba buddies and watch your pressure gauge
